David Forbes General Manager

David Forbes joined the ADP Taxware business as general manager in January, 2007. David is a proven leader with a long history of success at ADP that spans more than two decades. His expertise includes sales, operations, and management. Most recently, David worked out of ADP corporate headquarters in Roseland, NJ, serving as the head of the Small Business Systems (SBS) Sales Organization – ADP's largest sales organization with over 2,000 associates. Prior to that, he served as Division Vice President in ADP's mid-market organization. David's mission is to aggressively grow the Taxware business by accelerating product development, exploring opportunities in new vertical and geographical markets, and taking full advantage of the breadth of complementary ADP products at his disposal. A native of the southeastern United States, David and his family have relocated to the Boston area so that he can give this business his undivided attention.

Vice Presidents
Jon Abolins Senior Vice President, Operations Jon W. Abolins is the Senior Vice President of Operations for ADP Taxware, where he is responsible for all Tax, Government Affairs, Product Management, and Application Support activities. In this role, Abolins applies his knowledge of tax law to products and services that address all transaction-based taxes. He is also responsible for sustaining Taxware's relationships with taxing authorities and legislative bodies around the globe, frequently advising legislators and regulators seeking to simplify tax laws and rules through technology. Abolins is a graduate of the University of Southern California and the Boston University School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts, and was a member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's Consumption Tax Technical Advisory Group. A frequent speaker on transaction tax automation issues, Abolins has spoken at events sponsored by the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, the Conference Board, CommerceNet, the American Taxation Association, the World Research Group, the Equipment Leasing Association, and Harvard Law School's International Tax Program. He frequently speaks at sales and use tax or eCommerce tax automation policy meetings to such entities as the Congress of the United States, the Streamlined Sales Tax Project, the National Governors Association, the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the National Conference of State Legislatures, the Multistate Tax Commission, the Northwest Regional Sales Tax Pilot Project, and the Louisiana Association of Tax Administrators.

Charles Collins
Vice President, Government Affairs

Charles Collins manages ADP Taxware's relationships with taxing authorities and legislative bodies. He is a frequent speaker on state and local tax issues and on compliance and tax technology initiatives. Prior to joining the company in 2002, Collins was employed for over 32 years by the North Carolina Department of Revenue. He served the last ten years as Director of the Sales and Use Tax Division and held numerous other positions including Assistant Director of the Department's Audit and Collection Division. He has worked on efforts to simplify the administration of sales and use tax and on various compliance initiatives. He was Co-Chair of the Streamlined Sales Tax Project (SSTP) for 2 1/2 years and was a delegate to the Streamlined Sales Tax Implementing States. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from North Carolina State University and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He also graduated from the State of North Carolina Public Manager Program.
Jeff Dowling
Vice President, Client Services

Jeff Dowling, brings over 17 years of financial services experience in client facing roles and more than a decade of executive management experience in customer services, contact centers, trading, branch administration, relationship management, product development, sales, marketing, and e-commerce. He is currently responsible for ADP Taxware’s Client Services including implementation services, customer support, account management and client and partner training. Prior to joining ADP Taxware, Jeff was Managing Director and Senior Executive Officer of TD Waterhouse UK, which became the country's largest discount brokerage firm. In the U.S., Jeff has extensive experience in customer services and branch administration, as a Regional Vice President and VP of Trading and Customer Services. Jeff earned a BA from Muhlenberg College. He has been a member of the Institute of Directors, a Member of the Securities Institute (MSI), Association of Private Client Investment Managers (APCIMS), the UK Call Center Association, the International Customer Management Institute (ICMI) and the Call Center Network Group (CCNG). He has held the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7, 8, (9 &10), 24, 63 licenses as well as the Financial Services Authority (FSA) General Securities Representative and General Manager registrations.


 

Anna Gervasoni Vice President, Development Anna Gervasoni is Vice President of Development. Since joining ADP Taxware in 2002 as a Software Development Manager, Anna assumed responsibilities of the Total QA Manager role overseeing Taxware's Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, and Release Engineering teams. She was promoted to Director of Development for Taxware Enterprise in the summer of 2004 and led all Taxware Enterprise development initiatives in the areas of enhancements, interfaces, architecture, application deployment, and maintenance. Under Anna's direction Taxware Enterprise attained general availability followed by successful ERP certifications for PeopleSoft 8.9 Financials and SAP's R/3 and CRM solutions. Anna holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Prior to joining ADP Taxware, Anna provided consulting as well as systems integration services to Fortune 500 firms in a variety of industries including finance, broadband, and transport networks. She has successfully managed large outsourcing efforts and directed geographically diverse teams around the globe. Anna has proven track record of building high performing motivated teams and her hallmark has been delivering mission critical distributed applications for the enterprise on time and on budget.

Michael Janes
Sales Executive

Michael Janes is in charge of the ADP Taxware sales effort. He manages a network of regional sales managers based all across North America, and works in tandem with product management, implementations, and marketing in order to help the company  reach its business objectives. Janes joined the organization in 2006 as Director of Sales. Previously, he spent time at Oracle Corporation and also spent 12 years selling for a variety of  technology, software, consulting services and IT research companies. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island.

Jim Panagas Vice President, Marketing Jim Panagas is responsible for managing ADP Taxware's visibility in the marketplace. His areas of responsibility include advertising, collateral development, direct marketing, event management, public relations, and website development. Prior to joining ADP Taxware in 2004, he ran a marketing consultancy for ten years, working with dozens of technology companies across North America including Adra Systems, Cimmetry Systems, E3Synergy, MatrixOne, SolidWorks, and Surfware. He got his start in the high tech industry by working for ten years at Computervision Corporation during the 1980s and early 1990s. A native of the Boston area, Panagas is a magna cum laude graduate of Emerson College in Boston, where he studied mass communication and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communication.
Ken Zemba Senior Vice President, Development and Information Technology Ken Zemba is a 25-year veteran manager of developing applications, operations, and information technology. Prior to joining ADP Taxware in 2003, he was a founding member and Chief Technology Officer for BillingZone, a business-to-business Electronic Invoice Presentment and Payment Provider. Zemba has a strong financial processing background. At PNC Bank, he served as a Vice President for the PNC Financial Services Group, managing the technology advancement of all domestic and international payment systems such as Wire Transfer, ACH, Swift, and Letters of Credit. Zemba also held senior management positions at Mellon Bank and was responsible for the evolution of Mellon Bank's Trust Accounting Services offering.
